I realized that after finding this thing that allowed me to express myself - acting - and being encouraged by a few people that I could do it, I had kind of grabbed onto it and dug in my claws in a way that was maybe a bit unhealthy. I allowed myself to get into a headspace where I lived or died by what I achieved in this particular field.

Xavier Dolan…well, idk if he’s still directing lol, but he’d get being gay with mommy issues
Chris Eyre, i mean he directed the iconic Smoke Signals, and growing up native that was the first representation of native people on screen.
Chloé Zhao. i loved what she did with her films Songs my Brother Taught Me and The Rider. she really captured what it’s like living on a reserve.
